Thoughts in the mind of Oliver Maurhart
Hmm … didn’t noticed that the new trac-0.11 did totally switched off my project page … now back again and working.
A week now has past. Our baby eats, sleeps and sh…ts. As all babies ought to do. He is quiet, calm and never cries. Sure, as soon he is awake he looks around and with one or two squeaks he claims his presence … and food.
My wife provided myself with the honor of chosing the name alone. So be it. As father I call my fourth son Juri.
May he prosper and enjoy his beeingness in the world.
May he bring peace to places where trouble and confusion prevails.
May he be a light.
May he smiles every day.
May his heart be free, his mind open and never be shadowed by the fussiness of the world.
Yes.
Now, after a week, the unreality slowly fades away and day-to-day life gains its firm grip again. Necessary yes, bad sad though … A divine moment has passed. A brief glimpse into another world.
Yet, we are not unaffected.
At 3:09 am today (Wednesday, 16th July 2008) I became father of my fourth son.
It was at our place at home and it was a quite, beautiful, yet rather quick (2 hours!!) birth. Everything is different now.
A little angel dropped from heaven and gave us harmony, peace and love.
We took some photos for everyone to view (and so serving us a little more time in peace ;-)). However, since I didn’t use any flashlights I guess the camera took longer to get the picture. So naturally all photos - or at least most of them - are blurry.
Ah, yes, sure. We already got some questions about the baby’s name. Since my other sons are Jasa, Janos and Joshua. We didn’t decide yet … we’ll see. But of course … it will be somethin starting with a J. ![]()
When your wife is expecting you get all new clothing for the new baby.
Like SOCKS! Tons of it! Everywhere! One run with the washing machine and you’re bound up to 2 hours for picking up these enny-mini-teeni-weeny socks …
However … I’m hoping the baby’s there soon. Zala’s pregnancy is beautiful, yes, but nevertheless a burden as well.
Man … the integration of gallery2 and Workdpress is disastrous! I wasn’t able to get it integrated with ease. Three things which are pretty annoying:
a) Wordpress UI is just ridiculous. It’s really bad. Sure, one got the task of adding menu items by installing plugins. But on the other side this is not the first piece of software confronted with that task. Next it is not intuitive, e.g.: take the head line “Write Manage Design” on the left and “Settings Plugins” to the right. Ok … “Manage” vs. “Settings”? Huh? Obvious? No. That’s pretty confusing. So configuration and setup is basically trial & error.
b) Theme/Wdiget/WPG2 is … buggy. OMG! Didn’t found a theme capable of runing all these. Not to mention, I didn’t get aware of the fact I have to use a widget-enabled theme in order to get WPG2 to run … and then I only could view either a configurable sidebar (Calendar, Search, …) OR WPG2 Sidebar but not both!!! Huh?
c) Gallery2 support for multisites is ridiculous. Permalinks? No.
For short … Gallery2 <-> Wordpress Interaction does prevail a lot of … “optimization potential”. It’s buggy and frustrating.
I’ll organize my photo presentation in the blog in a own page … not tool driven but in full control of my hacking capabilities …
edit: Ok managed running permalinks on the multisite gallery2 installation … somehow … However, WPG2-Tags still are broken and I can’t use them. I’ve create a page “Dyle’s Fotos” whth hard-coded tags
There should be a better software out there …
